Job Description:

Our Technology team continues to go from strength to strength, playing a central role in firm-wide innovation and strategy. Far from being a support function, Technology is integral to the firm's growth agenda, backed by strong leadership engagement and sustained investment.

The Product team is embedded within Technology and empowers fee earners to focus on law, not on process. They enhance customer experience through smarter, simpler solutions, enabling the business to operate efficiently, grow innovation by collaborating and experimenting, and drive the transformation agenda.

Overview of the Role

This role focuses on helping our Transactional lawyers best use technology to do their legal work. It will involve helping lawyers get the best out of technology that they already have at their disposal, investigating new tools that we might buy or build, and finding opportunities to automate and digitise workflow.

Working closely with partners, fee earners, and knowledge professionals as well as colleagues in our technology and data teams, this role operates at the centre of the technology and data transformation agenda in contentious matters.

This role would suit a candidate who has a clear passion for technology, a strong understanding of the litigation process, and who is eager to solve problems through technology. We're looking for someone who is not afraid to experiment with technology and who will proactively try and solve technical challenges whilst continuously learning and upskilling themselves.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transform practice of law processes to enable Mishcon to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Be responsible for transformation efforts in the transactional practice groups, covering ideation, prioritisation, communication, and adoption.
  • Map, analyse, and design legal processes, contributing to ongoing/future solution design and implementation.
  • Contribute to the assessment of internal and external technology solutions, matching new technology products with lawyer requirements, and ensuring that they meet requirements and are delivered efficiently and effectively in line with relevant use cases.
  • Assess whether requirements/use cases necessitate GenAI, automation, or digitisation.
  • Support lawyers in their engagement with new suppliers and products.
  • Roll out improved ways of working (including new technology solutions, where relevant), with associated communications and training, to ensure behaviour change is effective.
  • Keep informed about the latest legal tech developments.

Skills/Experience

  • Strong understanding of dispute resolution processes, litigation lifecycles, and client service delivery models.
  • Experience working in or with legal teams (law firm or in-house legal department).
  • Hard working, proactive, enthusiastic, and professional with high standards of execution.
  • A positive, 'can do' attitude.
  • A strong collaborator, with the ability to work with a range of different working styles.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced environment undergoing significant change.
  • Someone relentless in the pursuit of innovative/creative solutions and solving practice challenges.
  • An innate curiosity for emerging legal technologies.
  • Ability to utilise and learn new technology.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape the practice transformation future of a leading international law firm.
  • Hybrid working, flexibility, and a supportive learning culture.
  • Access to the Mishcon Academy for continuous personal and professional development.
  • Participation in legal tech and AI initiatives with global relevance.
  • A role in an inclusive and values-led organisation that celebrates diversity.

Please note that this job profile is not an exhaustive list of duties but merely an outline of the key components of the role. You may be required by your line manager to take on additional responsibilities when requested.
