Job summary

Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking an exceptional Practice Supervisor in Bradford to lead elements of service development and support the Team Manager in responsibilities. You will also support Assessing Social Workers in the Kinship Assessment Team, contributing to training, quality assurance and individual practice development.

One must hold a Social Work Degree and be registered with Social Work England, with at least 3 years post-qualification experience and strong safeguarding

About the Role

Fostering in Bradford is the largest fostering family in the district supporting fostering families caring for local children. We are seeking to recruit an exceptional Practice Supervisor who is committed to service development and able to support and influence best practice across the service. Your role would be to lead of aspects of service development and support the Team Manager in their roles and responsibilities. Also, to support Assessing Social Workers in the Kinship Assessment Team in their delivery of high-quality support to Kinship families. This may include aspects of training, quality assurance and individual practice development. Bradford is one of the UK’s youngest and most diverse cities, home to over 534,000 residents. To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Have a Social Work Degree and be registered with the Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Substantial relevant social work experience of which 3 years must be post qualification; with a minimum of 6 months as an experienced social worker. Paid or voluntary work in a similar, relevant field will be considered at application stage.
  • Know what excellence looks like and champion best practice.
  • Have a good working knowledge of fostering regulations, national minimum standards and the Special Guardianship Order offer.
  • Have a sound knowledge and/or experience of therapeutic support for fostering families.
  • Can support, develop and inspire others.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have sound safeguarding knowledge and experience
  • Be able to make and maintain effective professional relationships
