Job summary

Kirklees Council in the United Kingdom is seeking a Practice Supervisor to support and direct social work practice for children and families. You will supervise a small team working with children in need, safeguarding plans, or looked-after children, coordinating with education and health partners to ensure appropriate support.

We provide an induction programme, dedicated supervision, and broad CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• We have a strong focus on safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• We build strong relationships with partners to ensure right support for families.
• Experience mentoring students and newly qualified social workers.
• Desire to raise standards of social work and practice.
• Clear understanding of high quality social work assessment and planning.
• Experience chairing multi-agency meetings.
• Ability to provide high challenge and high support to staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and day-to-day support of a small team of social workers.
• Collaborate with education and health partners to secure right support for children and families.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff to deliver exceptional services.
• Induction, supervision and CPD opportunities for practitioners.
• Support and development within a DBS-checked framework.
