Job description

We are a large, friendly GP Practice serving approximately 26,000 patients across Kingston and Chessington. Our team of healthcare professionals is focussed on delivering high quality, compassionate care to our diverse patient population.

As our Site Manager, you will work alongside the management team to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice sites. You will work closely with the Practice Manager, Operations Manager and Team Managers to organise rotas, lead on areas of governance and practice projects. You will need to be happy being involved in the day to day running of a practice, as well as working at a more strategic level. The role would suit someone with previous practice leadership experience looking to develop their career in a larger setting.

Main duties of the job

To take on lead responsibility for Health and Safety policy and practice within the surgery

To take responsibility for the GP Rota across the practice sites

To take responsibility for non-clinical Infection, Prevention and Control Leadership

To facilitate the day to day running of The Churchill Medical Centre & Orchard Practice for clinical and non-clinical staff.

Job responsibilities

Practice Site Manager - Job Description

  • Work in the practice partners and management team across Churchill and Orchard to ensure the practices operate to a high standard

Alongside the management team, deal with incoming queries directly from patients in relation to operational matters

Deal with onsite queries from the practice staff.

Running patient surveys, collating data from responses, providing feedback to the partners/management team. Assisting with planning any changes/ideas/projects arising from patient feedback.

Work alongside Patient Services Manager and Reception Team lead to organise awareness weeks - e.g. cervical screening, breast screening, hypo awareness week etc.

Maintain effective links with clinical staff, overseeing the daily GP rota

  • Authorising Annual Leave
  • Organising rotad holiday weeks
  • Booking locum cover where required in agreement with locum budget

To take on responsibility for Health and Safety:

  • Including conducting H & S audits and H & S assessments, Risk assessments and follow ups
  • Delivery and updating of the Health and Safety Policy

Ensure practice equipment is in working order, rooms correctly stocked with equipment and annual calibration is undertaken

Understand CQC regulatory framework

Take responsibility for ensuring practice meets Infection Prevention Control (IPC) guidelines.

  • Undertake audits alongside IPC Lead Nurse

Proactively work to improve patient experiences of the practice.

Understand and use of all computer systems.

Be available to change and update the various computer systems and resolve any problems in the absence of the IT manager.

Assist with the maintenance of the Practice Server and shared drives.

Maintain own personal development and attend mandatory and statutory training as required.

Promote training opportunities available for staff and encourage attendance.

Work collaboratively with the PCN team.

Develop relationships and work closely with other practices, community, hospital and the wider health system.

Participate in practice meetings, patient participation groups and other meetings.
