An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Practice Nurse to join their friendly and busy team. Some experience in chronic disease management and cervical screening desirable but not essential as training will be given.
GP based experience would be an advantage but not essential as training and development would be given to the right candidate.
We are looking to recruit a Practice Nurse to join our well established, friendly and very busy practice.
The post is for 16 hours per week over 2 days, Monday and Friday.
You must be self motivated, conscientious, professional, enthusiastic and able to use your own initiative.
The successful candidate must be an active team player and be very flexible to work within a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Pendre had been in operation as a surgery since before 1960, the original building being a detached house. Various extensions have taken place since this time and the original two doctor partnership has grown to the current four doctor Partnership.
The Surgery is town based with patients drawn mainly from the Holywell areas. The Practice has approximately 10,400 patients registered.
The aim of the Practice is to provide quality primary care services of the highest professional standard to patients, and provide an enjoyable and secure working environment for all staff.

Summary of role
The post holder will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and also setting standards of nursing care within the practice.
Formal Qualifications required to fulfil the duties of this post
You are responsible for limiting your actions to those that you feel competent to undertake. If you have any doubts about your competence during the course of your duties you should immediately speak to your line manager, supervisor.
Registered Health Professional
All employees of the practice who are required to register with a professional body, to enable them to practice with their profession, are required to comply with their code of conduct and requirements of their professional registration.
It is a standard element of the role and responsibility of all practice staff that they fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards.
Records Management
As an employee of the practice, you are legally responsible for all records that you gather, create or use as part of your work within the practice, including patient health, financial, personal and administrative, whether paper or computer based. All such records are considered public records, and you have a legal duty of confidence to service users, even after the employee has left the practice employment. You should consult your line manager as to the correct management of records with which you work.
Health & Safety Requirements
All employees of the practice have a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions. Employees are required to cooperate with management to enable the practice to meet its own legal duties and to report any hazardous situations or defective equipment.
