  • The post holder will work closely with the team of Occupational Health Advisors and medical staff, providing a comprehensive service to all staff. To provide a high standard of occupational healthcare to the multidisciplinary personnel of King's NHSFT and other purchasers of the occupational health service. The Practice/Clinic Nurse will be expected to participate/undertake training/education development and maintain a competent level of practice at all times
  • The Practice/Clinic Nurse will provide vaccination and phlebotomy services within pre-booked clinics, screen pre-employment health questionnaires, take part in walk in clinics, and will provide a comprehensive occupational services to Trust staff and external customers and provide general advice to clients as required.
  • To be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide patients and relatives with high quality nursing care.
Main duties of the job
  • To adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and adhere to Trust Policies & Procedures.
  • To participate as a member of the Multi-professional team, in providing occupational health services to Kings College Hospital Staff and other businesses as required
  • Willingness to work on multiple sites on a rotational basis.
  • To assess, plan and evaluate the needs of clients in the department following accidents and injuries.
  • To undertake clinical activities (e.g. vaccinations, phlebotomy, health interviews, pre-employment health screening) as required and where necessary training will be provided.
  • To assist in the provision of Occupational Health screening and surveillance programmes in accordance with current Occupational Health policy, e.g. lung function test and driver's medical.
  • To undertake advice to managers and individuals, with supervision, on Occupational Health related issues.
  • Advise managers and healthcare workers on the correct procedures when in contact with infectious diseases under supervision. or independently once competency has been established
  • To ensure that clinical stocks and supplies are ordered. To process orders and receive goods under supervision.
  • To participate in health and wellbeing programmes.
  • To appropriately and in a timely manner refer clients to occupational health policy or a Senior Occupational Advisor as appropriate.

Job responsibilities

Occupational Advisor as appropriate. To assist in undertaking workplace visits with the Senior Occupational Health Advisor. To be aware of the need to adhere to the Trusts policy on valuing equality and diversity in theworkplace. To ensure contemporaneous record keeping at all times and in line with the Trust policy ondocumentation. To maintain up to date and comprehensive records, observing confidentiality of the clientsinformation at all times and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations and Accessto Health Records Act. To be a fully active and committed member of the multidisciplinary team operating within the Divisions. To demonstrate an insight into own professional development, contributing to the process of identifying owneducational and clinical needs in conjunction with the Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor. Participate in own Individual Performance Review. To ensure own educational commitment is at least sufficient to maintain revalidation requirements and toensure own mandatory training certificates are current, in liaison with the Senior Occupational Health NurseAdvisor..
