Job description

This is a superb opportunity for a passionate and experienced Practice Nurse to join a friendly, supportive, and well-respected GP surgery based in the heart of Newark. The practice is ideally looking for someone to work 20–30 hours per week, and can be flexible around days and shift patterns to suit the right candidate.

You’ll be working in a modern, purpose-built surgery, as part of a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team. The surgery places a strong emphasis on work-life balance, with no extended hours, no weekends, and no on-call commitments – making this an ideal role for someone looking for flexibility and long-term career satisfaction.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Nurse with Primary Care experience, ideally with skills in cytology, vaccinations, immunisations, and dressings. Annual reviews experience would be a bonus. You’ll benefit from excellent support, daily coffee breaks, and real scope for career development.

Salary – £31,049 – £46,580 DOE (NHS Band 5 or 6) + NHS pension + 5 weeks AL + Bank Holidays + flexible working

Location – Newark, Nottinghamshire

The Surgery –

Your Role –

  • Practice Nurse position (20–30 hours per week)
  • Flexible start/finish times – Thursday evening required (until 8pm)
  • Ideally experienced in:
    • Cytology
    • Vaccinations & immunisations
    • Wound care/dressings
    • Chronic disease annual reviews (preferred)
  • Supported by a strong team: GPs, ANPs, Pharmacists, Physio, GP Assistants, HCAs
  • Daily 15-minute coffee breaks to support wellbeing
  • Full induction and ongoing CPD encouraged
  • Flexible, family-friendly working culture
