Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is advertising a Practice Nurse post with Primary Care 24, a social enterprise running NHS GP practices. The role involves working with GPs and other nurses across assessment, treatment, screening, and health education, while maintaining accurate records and mentoring the nursing team.

Shifts are bid for within weekday hours 08:00–18:30; cervical cytology and immunisation experience is sought.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• NMC mentorship qualification.
• NMC registration is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' qualified experience.
• Experience in GP practice, primary care or community setting.
• Experience in cervical cytology and immunisations.
• Shifts bid for within weekday hours 08:00 to 18:30.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist knowledge and skills in general practice nursing.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, keeping clear communication between clinical, administrative and community teams.
• Supervise and mentor the practice nursing team and provide a learning environment for staff and students.
• Provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education and advice in line with protocols, guidelines and the NMC Code of Conduct.
• Keep accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations and treatments.
• Follow infection control policies and keep up to date with them.
• Be responsible for treatment room supplies and equipment.
• Monitor work areas and practices for hazards and compliance with health, safety and security legislation and policies.

Applicants need current NMC registration, at least two years' qualified experience and an NMC mentorship qualification.
