Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse for a GP practice in Southall. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations, and running routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity, with well-organised workflows and supportive nursing leadership. Regular or ad-hoc sessions are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation training desirable.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.

Responsibilities

• Chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Immunisations (if trained).
• Smear tests (cytology-trained).
• NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.

This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system

Requirements

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work
