Job summary

Locum Ready are recruiting a Locum Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Bideford. The role focuses on delivering chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations (if trained) and routine nursing clinics within a structured primary care setting.

You will work under nursing leadership to balance clinical reviews with preventative health work, NHS Health Checks and recalls, ensuring clear documentation in the clinical system. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse with experience in primary care.
• Immunisation and cytology training are desirable.
• Experience in chronic disease management and routine clinic work.
• Strong patient communication and clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Carrying out wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Administering adult and paediatric immunisations if trained.
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-ups.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.

Key Responsibilities
