A healthcare facility in North East England is seeking a Practice Nurse to join its team at Station Lane Medical Centre. We have the opportunity to enrol a new toGeneral practice nurse into the vocational training scheme which will allowfor a year of supported teaching and learning alongside working in thepractice. This will start November 2025.
We are looking to recruit aPractice Nurse to join our busy and friendly team here at Station Lane MedicalCentre. We would welcome applicants from community nursing or secondary caresettings. We offer excellent training opportunities and the candidate will beable to join the VTS training scheme for the first 12 months of employment ifthey are new to primary care or with less than 12 months experience in primarycare.
Working in accordance with the NMCCode of Conduct, the post-holder will provide assessment, treatment, screening,health education services and advice to patients.
The post-holder will work withreference to practice agreed protocols and guidelines, providing nursingtreatments to patients both independently and in participation with nursecolleagues and general practitioners.
The post-holder will have therequired level of training and competence and will work within patient groupdirections where these are available.
Provide general nursing care, including woundmanagement, immunisations, and chronic disease management.
Conduct health assessments and screenings.
Support patients with long-term conditions,providing education and self-management advice.
Participate in health promotion activities andinitiatives.
Work collaboratively with GPs, healthcareassistants, and other practice staff.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patientrecords.
Station Lane Medical Centre is a well-established practice with a list size of c.8000 patients. We are a hardworking, high achieving Practice in Featherstone, Pontefract. We are a friendly and supportive team, committed to creating a positive and collaborative working environment. We are part of Wakefield North PCN and West Yorkshire ICB. The surgery has 4 GP Partners and 2 salaried GPs, 2 practice nurses and one ANP.
