Hours, Salary, and Benefits

• £22 per hour
• Minimum 25 days annual leave (pro-rated), plus bank holidays, increasing to 33 days with length of service

Shift Pattern: 21-37.5 hours per week

Flexible working and compressed hours are encouraged and considered for the right candidate.

You will be working Monday to Friday; however, we are open to condensed hours for suitable applicants.

Main duties of the job

The Practice Nurse is a vital part of the practice's clinical team, working alongside General Practitioners, nursing colleagues, admin, and reception staff to care for our patients.

You will be a valued member of the nursing team, providing safe, effective, and efficient general medical services.

Job responsibilities

Main Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide nursing services, including treatment, screening, advice, and minor procedures
• Run clinics for vaccinations, cervical cytology, contraception reviews, and wound care, including suture removal and leg ulcers
• Perform diagnostic tests such as blood glucose monitoring and urine analysis
• Safely collect and dispatch laboratory specimens
• Provide treatment for cuts, bruises, dressings, and suture removal
• Administer immunizations across all age groups, understanding contraindications and side effects
• Provide telephone advice and occasional home visits as appropriate
• Promote a positive, patient-focused culture
• Support a positive, supportive environment within the practice team
