Job description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic registerednurse with previous experience in general practice to join ourmultidisciplinary practice. The successful candidate will join a nurse-led teamof 7 nurses and 4 HCAs to deliver a safe and effective nursing service to ourpatients.

The Practice has a commitment to excellent patientcare, quality improvement and teaching. It is expected that all of ourclinicians are actively committed to supporting these aims and participate inrelevant activities when appropriate.

Thepost holder reports to the Nursing Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a large nursing team to deliver safe andeffective patient care, including management of long term conditions,immunisations and vaccinations, cervical screening, contraception and sexualhealth care. The post holder will work collaboratively with the wider clinicalteam, maintain accurate clinical records and follow best practice guidelines.Please see job description for more detailed duties.

We operate three GP practices: The Robert Darbishire Practice in Rusholme Health Centre (which is also head office) and which has a branch at The University of Manchester, Brooklands Medical Practice in Wythenshawe and The Whitswood Practice in Alexandra Park Health Centre. In total we have over 44,000 patients.

Our patients are very diverse and include established communities as well as new communities from all over the world. We have good links with the University and a sizeable student population.

Our staff team of about 120 people has a huge range of fantastic skills and experience. We are also our own Primary Care Network, which means our shared (ARRS) staff are fully integrated into our services, providing a seamless service for patients.

The post is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and will be mostly based at The Robert Darbishire Practice,although you will also need to be able to travel to our other sites as needed.The usual working hours are between Monday to Friday 09:00 18:00.

Salary will be inthe range £37,338 to £44,962 pro rata (full-time is 37.5 hours), depending onexperience (agreed pending uplift). We offer membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and 5.4-6.6 weeks'holiday (depending on NHS service) plus bank holidays (pro rata). (The post isnot subject to Agenda for Change terms and conditions.)
