Locum Ready is seeking a Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Loughborough. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and efficient clinic delivery, supported by organized workflows and nursing leadership. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning and afternoon slots are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation training up-to-date; cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.
• Strong patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision; enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Deliver adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Carry out smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
