Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse. This is a permanent position as patient demand is such that we are now offering the opportunity to join our established and growing team of Nurses & HCAs headed up by our Nurse Manager. We are looking for 2-3 days per week, up to 27 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities

The Practice operates from 2 sites in the Harrogate area and the applicant must be able to work from both sites. The role involves delivering primary care nursing services within a busy town centre practice. The post requires flexibility with days (one working day definitely on a Monday or Friday, or both) and participation in Enhanced Access sessions on a rota basis over a three-week period.

We positively welcome applications from all sections of the community. The Practice is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children, young adults and vulnerable adults and the successful applicant will need to undertake enhanced DBS clearance for the Practice.

Essential Skills / Qualifications

• RN qualification; active NMC pin
• Good organisational and communication skills
• A desire for continued professional development
• Good IT skills; clean driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Previous primary care experience including: chronic disease management, wound care, Doppler and leg ulcer management using compression therapies, childhood vaccinations, cervical cytology, family planning, health promotion, phlebotomy
• Experience with SystmOne is helpful (training will be provided)
• Ability to move into primary care from other RN roles; full training offered to successful candidates
• Ability to work with Nurse Prescribers who have chronic disease management experience
