Core Responsibilities Include
  • Phlebotomy and venepuncture
  • Wound care, dressings, and general practice skills
  • Health promotion and patient education
  • Chronic disease management (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, CHD)
  • Administration of immunisations including childhood, flu, travel, and Depo injections
  • Family planning support including pill checks, coil checks, and contraception reviews
  • Health assessments, screenings, and long-term condition reviews
  • Blood pressure, ECGs, and blood glucose monitoring
  • Cervical smear tests and breast awareness guidance
Essential Skills And Competencies
  • Diploma in Asthma and COPD
  • Certificate in care and treatment of patients with chronic disease
  • Qualifications in Diabetes, Respiratory Medicine, or coronary heart disease (or equivalent experience)
  • Cervical cytology (smear-taking), contraception, and travel health
  • Confident use of clinical systems: SystmOne, EMIS, Adastra, Vision, or Odyssey
