Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Dunoon. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisation activities (where trained) and routine clinic duties within a structured primary care setting.

You will support high-quality patient care through clinical reviews and preventive health work, with well-organised workflows and supportive nursing leadership. Regular long-term bookings and ad-hoc sessions are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carry out immunisations (if trained)
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Document clearly in the clinical system
