Bean Medical Practice is a small friendly practice with a list size of approximately 4,000 patients. We are currently looking to recruit a practice nurse to join our team.
Main duties of the job
- Manage patients with chronic disease, running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust call and recall systems.
- Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule.
- Provide travel health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations.
- Treat patients with minor injuries.
- Provide directly and assist GPs with contraceptive services.
- Break bad news to patients/parents/carers and provide appropriate ongoing support to meet identified needs.
- Act as chaperone when required.
- Undertake health promotion to help educate patients.
- Select, carry out, and interpret results of specific tests.
- Maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes.
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.
- Participate in regular Practice audit and research projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of Practice development plans.
- Maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
- Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g., Health & Safety, COSHH) are implemented and adhered to.
- Maintain own continuous professional development and keep PDP up-to-date in line with Practice requirements.
- Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required.

We are a small friendly team with 2 GP partners, a practice nurse, practice manager, reception team, and a secretary.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- RGN Qualification
- Current NMC registration
- Accredited training in chronic disease management
- Cervical cytology qualification
- Accredited training in anticoagulation management
Experience
- Up-to-date training in childhood immunisations
- At least 2 years post-registration experience at E grade
- Experience in health promotion
- Experience in family planning
- Recent updating in primary care
- Experience working with clinical systems
