Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work at a GP practice in Queens Quay Main Avenue. The role suits a nurse with strong assessment skills who can lead chronic disease reviews, perform treatment room duties and run routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity in a well-organised practice with supportive nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with GP IT systems: EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system
