Goldington Avenue surgery is seeking an experienced practice nurse to join our dynamic and friendly healthcare team, working 31 hours per week. The role will play a pivotal role in delivering clinical care to our patients and will join our nursing team of four nurses and one health care assistant already. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
You will become a part of a forward-thinking training practice which has significantly evolved during these times of change to enable us to provide excellent patient care, whilst protecting and supporting our valued team.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Management of long-term conditions (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension)
Childhood and adult immunisations
Cervical cytology
Wound care and dressings
Travel health advice and vaccinations
ECG recording
24 hour ECG and BP monitoring
Part 1 diabetic checks (physical checks)
Removal of staples or sutures
Urinalysis
Chaperoning
Assist GP's in minor surgery and coil clinics
Attend and participate in any practice meetings and training when required
To assist in seasonal and special projects as requested e.g. Flu campaign
Non clinical responsibility with maintaining stock, equipment and the clinical rooms, general administration.
