We are looking for a compassionate and skilled General Practice Nurse to join our friendly, supportive GP practice. This role focuses on delivering immunisations, cervical screening, and chronic disease management, while supporting the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, caring approach. A strong team player, they will support colleagues and contribute positively to a collaborative practice environment. Good IT skills and a clean driving license are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with and perform routine patient care tasks as directed by GPs.
Manage chronic conditions, including COPD, asthma, diabetes, stroke, hypertension, CKD, rheumatoid arthritis, and coronary heart disease.
Deliver childhood and routine immunisations, baby immunisations, and cervical screening.
Undertake home visits as required.
Support patients with mental health needs, learning disabilities, dementia, and conduct CVD risk reviews.
Perform ECGs, spirometry, venepuncture, and request pathology tests.
Provide contraception support, including pill checks and repeat Depo-Provera injections.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control in clinical areas.
Keep accurate and clear clinical records using Emis Web.
Adhere to agreed clinical and administrative protocols.
Attend practice meetings and participate in service improvement initiatives.
Perform any other duties appropriate to the post.
We are a multi-site organisation supported by a strong and experienced administrative team, including a Group Manager, Practice Manager, Assistant Manager, administrators, seven Reception Supervisors, a Nursing Manager, and three GP leads. We pride ourselves on being a friendly, collaborative team that values teamwork and support.
Key responsibilities are listed above -This role primarily focuses on immunisations, cervical screening, and chronic disease management. If you are confident in these areas, we will provide full training and support for all other aspects of the role.
