An exciting opportunity has arisen as Green Meadows Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Nurse to work alongside our current GP and Nursing Team.

Main duties of the job

Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the nurse manager and GPs, including:

  1. Cytology
  2. Wound care
  3. Travel
  4. ECGs
  5. Asthma
  6. Venepuncture
  7. Hypertension management
  8. Routine and childhood immunisations
  9. Requesting pathology tests
  10. Maintaining GP and Nurse room
  11. Stocking and rotating items as required
  12. Chaperoning
  13. Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
  14. Attend and participate in Practice Meetings when required
  15. Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
About us

Green Meadows is a Practice of around 10,000 patients situated in a new building on the Heatherwood Hospital site in Ascot.

Job responsibilities
  1. Venepuncture
  2. Routine and Childhood immunisations
  3. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.
  4. Assist GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings as required.
  5. Requesting pathology tests, for example, urine culture, swabs.
  6. Interest in: Diabetes / Coronary Heart Disease / Asthma / COPD / Contraception.
  7. Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to lead nurses or GPs as appropriate.
  8. Maintaining GP and Nurse rooms, stocking, and rotating items as required.
  9. Ordering of Health Promotion Literature.
  10. Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels.
  11. Participation in administrative systems in the Practice.
  12. Maintaining accurate records at all times.
  13. Advising the Practice Manager of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks.
  14. Attend and participate in Practice Meetings when required.
  15. On occasion, there may be a requirement to undertake home visits.
  16. Any other delegated duties appropriate to the Post.
