Job Description

The Practice Nurse will provide a range of high-quality general nursing services, specialist nursing advice, and patient care. Main duties and responsibilities include:

1. Autonomous working
2. Chronic disease management
3. Cervical screening
4. Child and adult immunisations
5. Travel vaccinations
6. Health promotion
7. Child health and child protection
8. Performing ECGs
9. Venepuncture and requesting pathology tests
10. Infection control
11. Chaperoning and assisting patients
12. Effective communication with the multidisciplinary team regarding patient care
13. Attending and participating in clinical and practice meetings
14. Proactively identifying personal and professional development needs
15. Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors
16. Carrying out duties to high standards in accordance with protocols and legislation
17. Providing patient care according to current PGDs and clinical protocols
18. Performing other duties as required
