Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK, providing water and wastewater infrastructure services alongside drainage design, SuDS, and surface water management. Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally, including UK water companies, local authorities, highways/rail authorities, and developers.

At AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure, we are looking to appoint a Practice Manager to lead our Networks & Drainage Solutions team in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Reporting to the Practice Director, you will be responsible for leading a regional team to deliver some of the most exciting infrastructure projects across multiple sectors.

The Practices are the technical powerhouse of our organization. As Practice Manager, you will work collaboratively with other Practice Managers to achieve targets, exceed client expectations, and drive innovation. The successful candidate will need to be committed to technical excellence, consistent delivery, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

Your Purpose:

  • Lead a regional practice team recognized for technical excellence and adaptability to business needs.
  • Collaborate with other Practice Managers to ensure the Practice operates effectively as a discipline, sharing information and resources.
  • Network with other Practice Managers for resource sharing and collaboration on business development and delivery.
  • Support workforce planning, skills development, and recruitment in partnership with the Professional Head of Discipline and Technical Authorities.
  • Work with the Practice Digital Lead to develop and implement new tools and products.
  • Provide line management, oversee career development, and manage employee performance.
  • Achieve headcount and productivity targets within the region.
  • Coordinate with Market teams to align resource demand with pipeline opportunities.
  • Maximize the delivery of work through the GDC component of resource group work.
  • Act as Project Manager or Director and undertake technical delivery as required.
  • Win work by maximizing repeat and follow-on opportunities from clients.
  • Drive innovation and value in service offerings.
  • Support business development with technical expertise when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the Business Management System and manage project risks.
  • Manage project financial performance and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead teams and deliver projects successfully.
