Job Opportunity: Qualified Practice Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Practice Manager to join a well-established, growing, and ambitious Chartered Accountancy Practice based in Central London.

Career Progression: There is a clear pathway to Director / Partner within 2-3 years.

The firm has been established for over 30 years, providing comprehensive accounting services to businesses and individuals, with a strong commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. They offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where professionals can thrive and grow.

The Role and Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Operations Director and managing a portfolio of clients, planning the production of accounts, tax, and bookkeeping, with a team of staff.
  • Overseeing the preparation and review of accounts and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Managing and performing audits across various industries, focusing on consolidations and group accounting structures.
  • Conducting research on tax issues and staying updated on changes in tax laws to provide current guidance.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Assisting with tax enquiries, liaising with tax authorities, and supporting clients.
  • Developing internal processes to streamline tax operations and improve efficiency.
  • Keeping informed about industry trends and seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Participating in business development activities, including client presentations and networking.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA) preferred.
  • Qualified in public practice with extensive experience in tax and accounting services.
  • Possession of an audit license is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of UK tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership abilities, including mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficiency in tax software, MS Office, and experience with accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, CaseWare, and TaxCalc.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.
