Practice Manager Felinheli & Porthaethwy Surgery

We are seeking a Practice Manager to oversee the operations of our 2 site, 7000 patient Practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical & financial management plus good HR skills. Salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications. The post holder will be automatically enrolled into the NHS Pension scheme. Working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About us

Felinheli and Menai Bridge Surgery has been providing medical care to local patients since 1967. We are a 2 Partner, 7000 patient Practice. We also have 3 salaried GPs and 1 ANP working at the practice along with 2 practice nurses and 2 healthcare assistants. The Practice is based on two sites 5 miles apart, either side of the Menai Straits that separates Anglesey from Gwynedd. The main surgery is in Felinheli, Gwynedd and is a dispensing site. The other site is in Menai Bridge, Anglesey. We are located in a beautiful part of North Wales with its stunning coastlines and fabulous Snowdonia and Eryri National Park.

Job responsibilities
  • Practice operations
  • Supervise daily operations and staff to ensure efficient practice functioning
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory standards and health protocols
  • Management of the premises, including health and safety aspects such as risk assessments and mandatory training
  • Strategy, planning and practice development
  • Implement strategies to enhance practice productivity and patient satisfaction
  • Oversee that the practice is up to date with primary care funding and contracts, and ensure that both clinical and administrative activity supports achievement of contractual targets
  • Human resources
  • Managing recruitment and retention of staff
  • Developing, implementing and embedding an effective staff appraisal process
  • Ensuring all staff have the appropriate level of training to ensure they are able to carry out their role effectively
  • Manage all financial aspects including practice accounts, budgeting, billing and financial reporting
