Green Elms Health Centre in Clacton is looking to welcome an experienced practice manager to join the team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be an existing GP practice manager or an experienced assistant practice manager with experience working within a GP surgery.
This key role within the surgery will manage and coordinate all aspects of the practice, including staff management, efficiency optimization, and financial performance. If you are an experienced practice manager or assistant practice manager seeking a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
- Managing all clinical and administrative staff, including recruitment.
- Direct line management of the clinic manager and administrative staff.
- Managing contracts for services such as cleaning, gardening, and window cleaning.
- Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinating the review and update of all practice policies and procedures.
- Managing the financial aspects of the practice, including petty cash, in conjunction with the partners.
- Ensuring the team meets QOF targets, supported by nursing and administrative leads.
- Coordinating the practice diary and scheduling meetings appropriately.
- Liaising at external meetings as required.
- Marketing the practice, including producing quarterly newsletters.
- Managing the Patient Participation Group.
- Dealing with complaints effectively.

Experience
- Experience working within a GP setting as an assistant or practice manager.
- Good educational background with excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience developing and implementing projects.
- Experience managing accounting procedures.
- Workforce planning, forecasting, and development experience.
- Strong skills and experience in HR, premises management, IT, and complaint handling.
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in business management or equivalent experience.
