Job summary

Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking an experienced Practice Leader to provide leadership and management oversight across Family Help and related services in London (Greater). The role combines supervision of up to three staff with direct involvement with children and families to deliver high-quality practice.

You will lead on quality assurance, audits and service improvement, chair multi‑agency meetings and promote excellent social work practice while developing a skilled workforce.

Qualifications

  • Substantial post-qualifying experience with children and families.
  • Experience in providing practice leadership, supervision and management oversight.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and statutory responsibilities.
  • Commitment to developing others and promoting excellent social work practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and line management for staff (up to three).

About the Role

As a Practice Leader, you will work alongside Team Leaders to provide strong practice leadership, managementoversightand support to frontline staff. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality practice, driving serviceimprovementand creating a culture of learning,reflectionand continuous development.

You will combine leadership responsibilities providing supervision, guidance and support to colleagues whilemaintainingdirect involvement with children and families.

What You'll Do
  • Support the Team Leader in the day-to-day management of the service.

About You
