Job summary

Thera Trust in Derbyshire is seeking a Practice Leader to mentor Support Workers and drive person-centred support. You will champion choice, safeguard rights, and help individuals plan and achieve their goals within the community.

This full-time role requires a flexible approach to shifts, DBS checks, and a valid UK driving licence for local travel between Brimington and Heanor sites. The salary is £28,998.76 per annum with 28 days leave.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and care regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • Confidence in using digital systems (e.g. Excel, care planning software).
  • Flexible working hours, willingness to travel locally and work across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor Support Workers to deliver person-centred support.
  • Promote choice, rights and independence for those supported.
  • Maintain records and ensure safe, clean environments.
  • Support emotional and social wellbeing within Positive Behaviour Support guidelines.

Contract: Full Time

Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: £28,998.76 Per annum

Additional Information: A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role

Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy and experience using hosits is preferred, although we are open to candidates who would be happy to work towards the specialism or willing to learn.

We are looking for aPractice Leaderto assist in mentoring Support Workers, focusing on person-centred support.

You and your team will encourage people to live the life that they choose, ensuring that they have choice and control around the planning and delivery of their support, enabling them to achieve their desired lifestyle and goals, maximising their community inclusion and participation.

As aPractice Leaderyour responsibilities will focus on improving outcomes for individuals, ensuring choice and control in support delivery, and maintaining a safe environment. The role involves promoting emotional and psychological well-being and continuous improvement through feedback.

You will support people to maintain a safe, clean environment which may include but not be limited to personal care, assisting with finances, preparing meals and accessing the community.

You will also support individual emotional, psychological and social wellbeing needs in line with and Positive Behaviour Support guidance.

The role requires you to have a flexible approach to working shifts and maintaining records in line with company policies. At all times aim to empower individuals, promote inclusion, rights & independence, whilst adhering to policies and acting as an ambassador for the company
