Job summary

Market Vets, part of ivc, is seeking a Director of Practice to lead two nearby veterinary practices in the UK. You will guide operational, commercial and clinical governance, shaping strategy and driving growth while developing a high‑performing team across 40+ staff.

The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen and the ability to align clinical leadership with business goals in a fast-paced market. 40-hour week with some flexibility, based across the two sites.

• Experience leading operations with accountability for performance
• Strong financial management including budgeting and planning
• Ability to translate opportunities into sustainable growth
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams
• Coaching and people management to build high-performing culture
• Experience leading through change and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Lead operational, commercial and financial performance across two practices
• Own P&L, annual business planning and budgeting
• Identify opportunities to grow the practices and improve client retention
• Build and develop a high-performing team of 40+ colleagues
• Lead resource planning, performance management and coaching
• Support client engagement and overall client experience
• Ensure governance, compliance and patient care in partnership with clinical leadership
• Drive improvements and support wider business initiatives
• Foster a safe, compliant, collaborative working environment across both sites
