A regional healthcare trust in Rotherham is seeking a Community Public Health Nurse to deliver excellence in nursing care across acute and community settings. The role involves mentoring staff, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and enhancing care quality for children and families. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications including a SCPHN and a degree in a health-related subject, with strong interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with families and staff.
This role focuses on delivering excellence in nursing careacross community and acute settings through clinical expertise, role modelling,and leadership. Acting as a resource for Public Health Nursing, the post holdersupports and mentors staff, students, and practitioners, fostering education,reflective learning, and professional development. A key responsibility is toenhance the quality of care for children, young people, and families byembedding evidence-based, patient-focused practice and promoting continuousimprovement.
Working closely with Health Visitors, School Nurses, TeamLeaders, and Governance Leads, the role ensures clinical standards, policies,and NMC requirements are met and regularly reviewed. Duties include coachingstaff, supporting action plans, contributing to governance, audits,benchmarking, and assisting in service development and modernisation. Stronginterpersonal and communication skills are essential for engaging withfamilies, addressing sensitive issues with empathy, and maintaining a positivelearning environment.
The post holder also ensures safe and effective use ofequipment, accurate record keeping, and compliance with safeguardingframeworks. Participation in supervision, appraisals, and ongoing professionaldevelopment is expected. Overall, the role plays a vital part in staffdevelopment, service transformation, and improving patient experience withinChildrens Nursing Services.
22,5 hours per week , 2 year fixed term post.
