Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust Radiology department is looking to recruit a Clinical Practice Educator Facilitator to join our team. We require applications from enthusiastic radiology healthcare professionals with relevant clinical experience and a passion for clinical education to lead the training and development agenda for the radiology department.
We are seeking an experienced radiographer who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and possesses proven facilitation and leadership qualities. The role involves delivering high standards of care, supporting, training, and educating radiographers, radiography students, assistant practitioners, apprentices, and clinical support workers. The goal is to promote best practice and ensure standardisation of clinical techniques.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical, leadership, teaching, and communication skills, with at least three years’ experience in a busy radiology department. Extensive knowledge of radiography techniques and patient care is essential. The candidate should be confident in sharing knowledge, conducting teaching and training sessions, assessing professional practice, and setting objectives to enhance competency. Proven teaching experience, along with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, is required. The post holder will support the student experience across the department.
Responsibilities include supporting radiography students and assistant practitioner trainees through induction, roster planning, assessor/mentor coordination, training, and support. The role also involves supporting teaching sessions such as tutorials and one-to-one mentoring with learners, including apprentices, assistant practitioners, support workers, radiographers, nurses, and students.
The post involves contributing to the development, planning, and organisation of continuous professional development for imaging staff, assessing training needs, and delivering in-service training. Supporting the development of clinical practice mentors and supervisors, and providing supervision and support structures to build education in practice, are key aspects of the role.
Additional responsibilities include promoting image optimisation in collaboration with the reporting team, leading interprofessional learning activities across the radiology service, and working with the North West Higher Education Institutions, NHS England, local trusts, the private sector, the North West Imaging Academy, and the CAMRIN network.
