The position offers a salary of £56,276 to £63,176 per year on a fixed-term contract for 6 months, with a full-time working pattern.

Qualifications

Practice Development Midwife - Clinical Governance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic, highly motivated, and enthusiastic midwife to join the Governance team at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Practice Development midwife for Clinical Governance.

The Practice Development Midwife for Clinical Governance plays a pivotal role in promoting excellence in maternity care through a dual focus on clinical education and governance. This role combines leadership, education, and clinical practice to ensure safe, evidence-based, and high-quality care. The post holder will support the development of midwifery staff, lead on clinical governance initiatives, and contribute to the continuous improvement of maternity services.

Main duties of the job
  • Track and follow up on actions devised following incidents, and PSIRF learning responses.
  • Support and provide guidance to all staff within maternity services in relation to patient safety and clinical governance
  • To contribute to the maternity clinical risk management strategy and provide support in monitoring the effectiveness of the maternity services risk management strategy
  • To attend the Trust complaints, litigation, incident and pals meeting (CLIP), and when required deputise for the Maternity Clinical Risk Manager at the trust level Patient Safety meetings as a midwifery expert. In addition, attend the maternity services risk management meeting (MRMR)
  • To promote and maintain cohesive working relationships with obstetricians, neonatal team (medical and nursing) anaesthetists and other specialists.
  • Support the implementation of recommendations from Government and professional bodies in relation to maternity care.
