Practice Development Facilitator - Emergency Department

We are recruiting for a Practice Development Facilitatorwho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to be the Practice Development Facilitator and Band 7 Nurse in charge to join our dynamic Emergency Department team.

This is a dual role to - 22.5 hrs/week Band 7 Nurse in Charge and 15 hrs/week Practice Development Facilitator.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with team members to support the training, development, and competency progression of ED staff across all levels, from newly recruited Band 5 Registered Nurses to Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Clinical Support Workers.

You will provide expert guidance based on your experience in caring for critically ill or emergency patients.

You will play an integral role in the educational development team, supporting staff in delivering high-quality patient care while promoting continuous professional development.

Main duties of the job

Training & Development: Identify the training needs of ED staff, including newly recruited Band 5 Registered Nurses, Band 6 & 7 Nurses, EMTs, and Clinical Support Workers, and provide tailored support to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Competency Frameworks: Assist in the development and implementation of competency frameworks for Band 5 & 6 Registered Nurses, as well as EMTs, ensuring staff are supported in achieving and maintaining the required competencies.

Support & Mentorship: Offer ongoing support to staff in completing competency frameworks, identifying additional support where necessary to ensure successful outcomes.

Staff Transition Support: Facilitate the transition and professional development of newly recruited Band 5 Nurses, helping them integrate into the ED environment effectively.

Collaboration & Partnership: Work closely with specialist nurses, HR, and other departments to drive the development of staff, ensuring that training and development initiatives are aligned with best practices and organisational needs.
