Cambridgeshire Practice in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant to join a long‑standing firm. The role focuses on bookkeeping for SME clients, management accounting support and compliance tasks.

You will manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping, prepare accounts to trial balance, and file VAT returns while liaising with clients and supporting the accounts team to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a UK-based practice (Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant).
• Proficient with Xero, Sage 50 or QuickBooks.
• Experience communicating with clients.
• Organised, methodical and diligent.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.
• Complete accounts up to trial balance.
• Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns with HMRC submissions.
• Process accruals, prepayments and management accounts support.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Support colleagues to ensure deadlines are met.
