Square Peg Associates is hiring a Practice Bookkeeper to manage a diverse client base across small businesses. You’ll work with VT Software or Sage/Xero/QuickBooks and develop your skills within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in bookkeeping.
• Experience with VAT returns, MTD and CIS returns.
• Able to learn VT Software quickly and train others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare VAT returns for clients.
• Process MTD compliance and CIS returns.
• Handle payroll, with training offered.
• Reconcile client accounts and verify accuracy.
• Manage expense claims and related documentation.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries.

Square Peg Associates have a new Practice Bookkeeper role that offers the variety of workload, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to work with a range of businesses.

A user of VT Software would be ideal for the position, or a strong user of Xero, Sage or Quickbooks.

This role can be a stepping stone to more advanced positions within the company or you may be an established Practice Bookkeeper looking to work with a wider client base, or a company that can accelerate your career, or simply want a fresh start in a company that offers a flexible approach.

The managers are really great to work for, as they offer a hands-on and supportive environment and love staff who are willing, eager and can demonstrate the capability to learn and progress, or alternatively, want an established Bookkeeper who is experienced and looking for a small team with flexible approach to work.

Salary Range: 26k-35k for realistic experience.

Practice Bookkeepers are a must for the position.

A minimum of 3 years experience is essential.

This new Practice Bookkeeping / Assistant Accountant position offers the following:

Accounting Software:

VT software is used, if you have used accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, VT training is pretty simple to learn and training is offered. Good Microsoft Excel skills are required.

Customer Interaction:

• You will often serve as the point of contact for clients, building relationships and resolving any queries.
• We are looking for good communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• This direct interaction with your clients can be rewarding and fulfilling and would be part of the role.

Duties:

• The main duties of this bookkeeping position are:
• Vat Returns
• MTD
• CIS Returns
• Payroll - training can be offered
• Delving and checking that accounts are accurate.
• Managing claims for expenses.

Flexible work approach:

• Flexi operation can be discussed to suit - Full Time with flexibility on start / leave times.
• While this is an office based role, Work from Home can be negotiated, 1 or 2 days a week, if and when you have the confidence in the client base and company structure.
