Job summary

Reed Practice is partnering with an established Chartered Accountants firm to recruit an experienced Accountant. The role offers a varied, stable workload across year-end and management accounts, VAT, and payroll support, within a friendly team.

The successful candidate will have AAT or equivalent experience, strong organisation, and a proactive client-focused approach, with opportunity for long-term development in a well-regarded practice.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or be qualified by experience.
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Alternatively, experience managing bookkeeping for multiple entities within a finance environment.

Responsibilities

• Support year-end accounts and ensure client records are accurate and complete.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts.
• Process sales and purchase invoices, receipts, payments and journals.
• Complete bank, credit card and control account reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Maintain client records using cloud-based accounting software.
• Liaise with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries and obtain financial information.
• Process payroll and pension submissions (desirable).
