Job description

Job Opportunity: Practice Accountant – Full-Time

Location: Exeter

Due to continued growth and expansion, the firm is looking for a well-organised individual to join the team on a full-time basis. The client base is diverse, spanning a range of industries and turnovers.

Package:

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • 36 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience within an accountancy practice.
  • ACA, ACCA qualification, or equivalent qualification by experience.
  • Proficiency in electronic accounting software, including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
  • A conscientious, team-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deal with clients promptly, accurately, and efficiently.

The role will involve a variety of tasks, including:

  • Compilation and review of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Preparation of tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts.
  • Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns.
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff members.
  • Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries.
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Assisting with a wide range of additional value-added services.
