Job summary

Supreme Search Specialists is seeking a Practice Accountant in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, to join a well-established firm delivering statutory accounts, management reporting and advisory services for SME clients.

You will manage a portfolio, prepare statutory accounts, tax computations, and provide proactive business advice while embracing cloud accounting tools such as QuickBooks. A part-qualification in ACCA/ACA or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified (ACCA / ACA / Chartered Certified) or experienced by practice.
• Proven experience working in a practice-accountancy environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting, tax, and management reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
• Produce management accounts, cash-flow forecasts, and financial reporting packs
• Prepare and review corporate and personal tax computations
• Provide bookkeeping support, including reconciliations and control account maintenance
• Liaise closely with clients to understand their business challenges and provide practical, proactive advice
• Support the adoption and use of cloud accounting and digital workflows (e.g., QuickBooks)
• Assist with payroll and auto-enrolment services where required
• Supervise or mentor more junior team members
• Stay up to date with accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practice
