The Role of a Practice Accountant / Accounts Senior

* Prepare year-end accounts for Limited Companies, Sole Traders, and Partnerships

* Prepare and file corporation tax returns and personal tax returns

* Prepare management accounts with commentary

* Bookkeeping including but not limited to, processing of purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, VAT returns and CIS returns.

* Processing of weekly and monthly payrolls and pension contributions for auto enrolment compliance.

* Assist with adhoc accountancy tasks including but not limited to, Company Secretarial matters, P11d’s and ATED submissions.

* Use automated software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Hubdoc.

* Support owner with meeting workflow deadlines

* Support owner with growing the business through networking events and other marketing activities.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations.

* Other adhoc tasks to help the owner.

The Ideal Practice Accountant / Accounts Senior Candidate:

* AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent with at least 3 years’ qualified practice experience (QBE)

* Some knowledge or experience of personal tax

* Strong client communication skills, professional and commercial in approach

* Ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadlines with excellent attention to detail

* Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Excel and Word)

* Experience in a fast-paced professional environment

* A proactive, flexible, and customer-focused team player with high personal standards

* A strong technical grounding in accounts preparation.
