• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in accountancy software such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of attention to detail and initiative.

• Produce annual accounts for sole traders, landlords, and partnerships.
• Draft personal and corporate tax returns.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC.
• Review the work of junior staff and support their training.
• Handle client queries and build lasting relationships.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
• Undertake various ad-hoc tasks as required.

We are currently recruiting for an Accountant to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Colchester. With over 20 years of success and 90% of new clients coming via recommendation, the firm has built a strong reputation for client service and staff wellbeing.
