Howett-Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Limited is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant for an established accountancy firm on a temporary basis. The role covers accounts and tax, preparing and reviewing work, and dealing with clients within a UK practice environment.

Hybrid working is available; the role could become permanent for the right candidate. Candidates with solid UK practice experience and strong CCH experience are encouraged to apply, with qualification or QBE considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for a range of clients.
• Review accounts and associated working papers.
• Prepare and review personal and corporation tax returns.
• Deal with accounting and tax queries from clients.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Manage a varied portfolio of client work.
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Support the wider practice team where required.

Practice Accountant - About The Role

You will join the practice team in an all-round capacity, working across accounts and tax for a varied client base. The role will involve preparing and reviewing assignments, dealing directly with clients and providing support across a range of accounting and tax matters.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is already comfortable working within a UK practice environment and can manage their own workload with minimal supervision.
