The opportunity
We are looking for an ambitious external communications professional to join our Communications Team, which was newly established in Autumn 2024. The Communications Team is a centre for excellence covering external communication, internal communication, employer brand, engagement, events and corporate comms across multiple businesses.
Consumer PR is a new focus for IAG Loyalty, which has traditionally concentrated on B2B communications, with corporate communications introduced at the end of last year. As Avios continues to grow as a global currency, we’re seeking a PR professional to elevate the Avios brand with customers and identify opportunities to raise IAG Loyalty’s profile as a valuable partner.
This role will be responsible for developing and executing PR strategies and campaigns to enhance our reputation, elevate our brand, and engage key stakeholders, while working closely with the corporate communications team.
Reporting to our Head of Communications and working closely with our Corporate Communications Partner, this individual will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build the right plan for each part of our growing business.
What you’ll get up to
You’ll be accountable for developing and implementing proactive consumer PR campaigns that align with our strategy. You’ll use the right proof points, channels, and tactics to reach target audiences and strengthen our reputation and brand positioning.
This is a chance to be creative—discovering new ways to tell our Group story as we transition from a B2B focus to a mix of B2B and B2C communication.
You’ll bring an Agile mindset to your work—embracing sprints and using tools like design thinking to keep the customer at the heart of what we do.
You’ll build and nurture strong relationships with partners, journalists, and influencers to secure positive media coverage. You'll pitch stories, craft press releases, and produce thought leadership pieces that boost our brand visibility.
In partnership with our Corporate Communications Partner, you’ll design 360-degree campaigns that reinforce our company narrative and support media relations and crisis comms when needed.
You’ll confidently represent the company in media interactions, including with high-profile journalists, complementing the work of our corporate comms team.
You’ll work closely with PR teams at British Airways, British Airways Holidays, and International Airlines Group, ensuring alignment with our Employer Brand and Marketing teams.
Drawing on your experience, you’ll help strengthen stakeholder relationships, build trust, and communicate effectively to address concerns and expectations.
You’ll be a pro at managing stakeholder relationships, including partners and colleagues—building trust, fostering collaboration, and tailoring communication to their needs.
What we need from you
We are looking for relevant experience in external communications or public relations
You will be a strategic thinker, a problem-solver with the ability to develop and execute communications plans that drive results
You will be excellent at writing and editing and have unique storytelling abilities, with keen attention to detail
You will have proven media relations experience, and a track record in multiple businesses of securing positive media coverage and managing media enquiries effectively
Experience in travel PR is a plus
A demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, with internal and external stakeholders at every level is a must
Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms
The ability to manage multiple priorities across more than one business in a fast-paced and exciting environment spanning retail, loyalty and travel

Your verbal and written communication is strong, you use the right tone of voice to share your ideas and data and insights to back up your thinking.
