PR and Content Executive

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000

Location: Hybrid – Manchester

The City Recruiter is working on behalf of a growing PR and communications agency to find a talented PR and Content Executive. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in journalism and a passion for media to join a fast-paced, creative team working across a variety of clients and sectors.

In this role, you'll be developing high-quality press releases, managing media relationships, and supporting broader PR and content strategies that drive visibility and engagement for clients.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Writing compelling press releases, blog content, and media-ready material
  • Using photography skills to support campaign visuals (desirable)
  • Building relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets
  • Spotting newsworthy angles and securing media coverage across digital and print
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of PR campaigns and media events
  • Monitoring media coverage and tracking PR performance metrics
  • Attending journalist and client meetings and delivering regular reports
  • Liaising daily with clients and media contacts
  • Analysing media coverage and producing evaluation reports
  • Promoting client events and initiatives to the media
  • Supporting the agency’s own PR and social media efforts
  • Conducting interviews with clients to gather key content for media use
  • Staying informed about industry trends, media movements, and competitor activity

What We’re Looking For:

  • NCTJ or a degree in Journalism, Communications, or similar (essential)
  • Experience in PR, journalism, or content creation
  • Strong understanding of media law, journalism ethics, and press release writing
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal
  • Ability to build and maintain strong media relationships
  • Proactive, creative thinker with attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident in a fast-paced environment working across multiple accounts
  • Some experience with photography is a bonus
  • Existing press contacts are an advantage
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, CMS tools, and media monitoring software
