The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd in Manchester is seeking a PR Account Manager to lead a portfolio of client accounts, acting as the main point of contact and driving results.

Hybrid working balances office collaboration with remote work, with a clear route to senior roles and ongoing professional development.
Join a sme PR & Communications company as a PR Account Manager in Manchester.
PR & Communications agencies win and lose clients on the quality of the people running their accounts. This is an established, growing SME with a genuine track record in the sector, and it needs a PR Account Manager who can hold a client relationship together while the wider team scales. Manchester's media and comms scene has grown fast over the past decade. This is a chance to be part of that story rather than just watch it happen.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Manage a portfolio of client accounts day to day, acting as the main point of contact and keeping them genuinely happy
Write and pitch press releases, features and thought-leadership pieces to relevant journalists and outlets
Build and maintain relationships with media contacts across print, broadcast and digital
Plan and deliver PR campaigns from brief through to coverage, keeping timelines and budgets on track
Brief and support junior account executives, reviewing their work before it goes out the door
Report on campaign results and translate coverage into figures that actually mean something to clients
Here are the skills you’ll need:
At least two to three years' experience in a PR or communications agency environment
Strong writing skills. You should be able to turn a dry brief into a story a journalist wants to run
An existing network of media contacts, or clear evidence you know how to build one fast
Confidence managing client relationships directly, including the occasional awkward conversation
Solid organisational skills. You'll be juggling several accounts at once, and nothing should slip
A collaborative streak. This role involves mentoring more junior team members as you grow into it
Key perks and benefits:
Salary of £32,000 to £40,500, depending on experience
Hybrid working, with a proper balance between office collaboration and working from home
Private medical insurance and pension contribution
Structured professional development, with a clear route to senior account manager
Annual leave that supports actual work-life balance, not just a line in the handbook
Why pursue a career in PR & Communications?
PR & Communications is one of the more resilient career paths going. Brands need people who can tell their story well, and that need doesn't disappear when budgets tighten, it just gets more competitive. Manchester has become one of the UK's strongest regional hubs for this kind of work, with agencies and in-house teams sitting alongside genuinely big media outlets. Progress from account manager, and the ceiling is high: account director, then a path into senior leadership for people who can combine strategic thinking with the writing chops to back it up.
