Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking an experienced Cryptography Engineer for intersection of cryptographic architecture and platform/automation engineering in Manchester. Contract role inside IR35, 6 months, hybrid work arrangement.

You will build APIs, automate cryptographic services, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cloud, application and infrastructure teams to drive reliability and crypto‑agility.

Qualifications

• Strong software, platform or infrastructure engineering background.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale services.
• Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Java, Go or similar).
• API development and systems integration experience.

World Wide Technology (WWT) is looking for an experienced Cryptography Engineer for intersection of cryptographic architecture and platform/automation engineering.

The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of cryptographic primitives and protocols with hands‑on engineering skill — building APIs, automating manual processes, and integrating with existing core cryptography and security platforms.

This is a contract Role & Inside IR35

Contract Duration: 6 months!

Location: Manchester, UK (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

• Build and automate cryptographic service capabilities.
• Develop APIs, tooling and self-service solutions.
• Integrate cryptographic services into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.

What We're Looking For

• Strong software, platform or infrastructure engineering background.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise‑scale services.
• Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Java, Go or similar).
• API development and systems integration experience.
• CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Excellent problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Passion for simplifying complex problems through engineering.
• Knowledge of PKI and certificate management.
• Awareness of cryptographic services and key management.
• Security engineering or DevSecOps experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud‑native platforms or machine identities.
• Interest in cryptography, crypto‑agility and post‑quantum security.

Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract.
