The Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Team for a PPP Project Support Officer (PSO). The role of the PPP Team is to provide guidance and support to existing PPP contracts helping to minimise NHSScotland’s expenditure whilst ensuring effective and productive relationships with PFI providers exist. The PPP Team deliver a range of services from ad-hoc support, strategic support to Boards, training, the maintenance of the PPP Knowledge Hub amongst a host of other essential services to NHS Boards.

The post holder will manage the day-to-day running of the PPP for several workstreams by providing high level project support and assisting in the delivery of advice and guidance on appropriate management methodologies, there will be an expectation that the PPP PSO will be able to resolve common PPP related queries that may be raised by NHS Boards. The PSO will be an integral part of the team and play a key role with responsibility for providing a full range of administrative and project support services to the PPP team, assisting in the organisation and administration of all aspects of the workstreams including but not limited to; responding to queries, scheduling, project management, minuting, developing and maintaining action logs, ensuring appropriate governance is in place and supporting the development of guidance notes and papers, and business as usual activities. Additionally the role will require attendance and participation at PPP Learning Events, PPP Regional Groups and PPP Joint Board meetings. Attendance at forums such as Energy, SCART, HAISCRIBE will likely form part of the role to ensure actions and messages are consistent across PPP faciltities and wider NHS Scotland estates.

The Candidate

You will hold qualifications in office administration, project management, legal contracts or relevant experience gained in a busy office environment with knowledge of effective project management. You should have sufficient post-qualification experience (including project administration). Computing skills are required and you must be able to demonstrate initiative, written and verbal communication skills as well as tact, diplomacy, and the ability to work on your own and/or as part of a team. Experience or awareness of PPP/PFI/NPD/HUB contracts would be particularly advantageous.

Location and Working Pattern:

Flexible Location - (Glasgow / Edinburgh / Larkhall / Eurocentral)

Currently hybrid working.

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
