Job description

Are you a flexible and confident teacher who enjoys working across multiple year groups? Do you thrive on variety and love inspiring pupils in different classrooms each day?

GSL Education are looking to appoint an enthusiastic PPA Cover Teacher to work in a vibrant primary school setting in Hull. This role is perfect for someone who is adaptable, reliable, and passionate about delivering high-quality lessons while covering class teachers' PPA time across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

As a PPA Cover Teacher, you’ll have the chance to teach a wide range of subjects and support pupils’ learning across the curriculum. You’ll work closely with class teachers and leadership teams to ensure continuity of learning and maintain positive classroom behaviour.

What you have to do as a PPA Cover Teacher:
  • Deliver engaging and planned lessons across different year groups and subjects.
  • Maintain consistency in learning during teacher absences.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different age groups and learning abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Support pupils in reaching their academic and personal development goals.
  • Provide feedback to class teachers on pupils’ progress and participation.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure a smooth handover of planning and resources.
  • Uphold the school's values, routines, and expectations across all classes.
  • Attend staff meetings or briefings if required by the school.
Skills & Requirements PPA Cover Teacher:
  • Experience teaching across the primary age range is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to teaching.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
