Job description

The Role

As a Powertrain Benchmarking Engineer, you will work as the Powertrain function Benchmarking engineer and will have the opportunity to be responsible for supporting the evaluation of competitor vehicle attribute analysis against the current landscape of powertrain systems, mainly focusing on hybrid and electric vehicles for efficiency, performance, and systems landscape.

Your responsibilities:

1. Perform benchmarking analysis for powertrain systems and maintain databases (A2MAC1) up to date with the latest attribute metrics and competitors’ intelligence data.
2. Conduct competitor attribute benchmarking, including features, physical/virtual testing, measurement, and visual assessments as required.
3. Support lead engineers in establishing attribute targets within the program.
4. Perform market trend analysis on the global powertrain landscape.
5. Understand market trends in the automotive industry and competitor intelligence across various industry forums worldwide.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Understanding of the physics behind vehicle efficiency, cycle energy demand, electric range, fuel economy, CO2 emissions, and performance metrics for BEVs and hybrids.
• Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering principles.
