Job summary

Cummins Inc. in the United Kingdom is inviting applications for seven PowerGen Europe Business Operations Placement Student roles in Wellingborough.

Roles span Sales Operations, Contracts Management, Logistics, Account Management and EMEIA Marketing, with placement start in Summer 2027. Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience supporting daily operations, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration within a global manufacturing leader and will be matched to opportunities

Qualifications

• Be working towards a degree that includes a qualifying placement year.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to work with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills; comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications; experience with Excel/PowerPoint or data visualization tools is beneficial.
• Show curiosity, commercial awareness and a willingness to challenge the norm and identify improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operational, commercial, logistics, contracts, marketing, account management or sales activities; take ownership of defined projects and help teams deliver improvements.
• Analyse data, prepare reports and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Work with customers, suppliers and cross-functional colleagues to coordinate activities and resolve issues; identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve customer experience.
• Build proficiency in business systems and tools such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Power BI and ERP systems.
• Develop presentation, communication, project management and structured problem-solving skills.
• Gain product and industry knowledge through training, business exposure and potential site visits.
